Founded in 2000, ArtWell is a 501(C)3 nonprofit providing educational, arts-based programs for underserved communities and youth facing discrimination, poverty, violence, and the everyday challenges of growing up. In partnership with over 400 local schools and community organizations, ArtWell® programs have helped transform the lives of more than 35,000 young people across the Greater Philadelphia region.
ArtWell utilizes best practices in Critical Pedagogy, Multicultural Education, Asset Based Youth Development and Social-Emotional Learning. Youth programs include: the Art of Growing Leaders, HeartBeat, EcoArts, MasterPeace, We the Poets, and the ArtWell Slam Team. ArtWell also hosts experiential workshops for groups and individuals through its professional development and training program ArtWell@Work.
